April 1-7: Week in Review

I am finally caught up (almost).  At least these pics were taken last week.  Last week was treatment 1 of cycle 4, and it kicked my rear end.  I had several days where I barely got out of bed.  and my worst days were at the end of the week not the beginning (that is new), usually I feel uber crummy right away and then it fades.  This didn't come on a strong, but it layed me out Friday, Saturday and Sunday. So I have to admit I was scrambling for photo subjects...I would agree that Sunday is the worst...but whatever I still have a pic for each day...project 365 lives!!

To the moon and back my lovelies,
Sarah

I felt the same way on Monday - my babies and their mommy and daddy had to go home!  :(

One last walk with Miss Lily

UMMMM...Tiny Robin...that is NOT a slide it is a model of a uterus!  ~  Tiny Batman
WHEE....ERRR WHAT?!?!?  ~  Tiny Robin

Another Tuesday another snapshot of my feet.

Mimi finished maybe my favorite puzzle so far.  Yummy cupcakes in rainbow colors!!!!!
This made my Wednesday seem a little brighter.

Thursday - These are the cool looking (or at least cool looking to me)
neons on the way out of my therapist office!

Flashback Friday - This is one of our only family portraits.  We may need to update this soon

Saturday - This tickles me so much.  She has all her favorite toys in the bed,
so she is practically laying on the hearth.

Sunday - I took this photo in my kitchen.
Sunday starts with "s" and this has always
looked like it is hanging upside down.
LAME...I will do better this week...maybe.

March 25-31 Week in Review

This week was so much fun.  I didn't have chemo...my sweet babies were in town for Easter...and I got to spend two fabulous days with both sides of my family!  I love getting to hear about things that happened as they were growing up.  Easily the most interesting story was about when my dad was home alone and had fallen asleep on the couch when a group of people broke into the house and milled about.  He said they left without taking anything...he was alone...on the couch (with no blanket)...and someone broke into his house!!!!! I can't even count the number of times I would lay paralyzed under the covers thinking there were definitely people in my house (I was never right)...and all this time my dad had braved people ACTUALLY being in his house...EEK!  Oh well that is a tad off subject.  Here are the pics from Easter weekend.

I love this "Camera Man" my aunt and uncle made it out of all sorts of vintage camera equipment!

I love my little hearth covered in flying pigs.

This is a strange little piggie bank...ummm...buggie bank? pibbit bank?

Tiny Batman had a big time at my pulmonologist's office.

All my favorite little people looking for creepy crawlers!

I am the perfect place to hide an egg!

same hiding place different day!

So those are the pics from two weeks ago...enjoy!

Lifescouts!

Lifescouts is a badge-collecting community of people who share real world experiences online.  It originated on Tumblr...so people are encouraged to "reblog" the badges they have and share stories about the badges they have earned.  I have decided to take part, but I don't have a Tumblr...but I figure my blog is as good a place as any to share my "life badges." I would love it if my friends and family reading about this would take part also.  Every month has a new theme...and this has been going on since January.  I think I will take on a month at a time to try and get caught up.  I haven't looked at all the badges, but I hope to find at least a couple that I can complete to add new badges to my collection.  As I understand this...if you have done what it says on the the badge in your life it is yours to collect...you don't have to do it now to earn the badge.  I like this...because...I have seen the Mona Lisa...but I probably won't get to see her again in my life.

So that's all I wanted to share for today...check out the tumblr and see how many "life badges" you have!

Sarah

Week in Review: March 18-24

I had a quiet week this week.  I had the last treatment in my third cycle...so that meant time spent at home.  These are the weeks that make me reach for my Project 365 photos.  I have to find things around my house to photograph...but how many pictures of my dog would any sane person want to see.  I did leave the house to go to the movies.  I saw Identity Thief...I was wildly unimpressed...I am beginning to think I should leave it at seeing the preview for a movie...because any part of a movie worth watching is crammed into the trailer.  I am also trying to improve my nail painting skills.  I am doing pretty well as long as I use my left hand.  My right hand is still very shaky...lots of nail polish remover is necessary to make my left hand look as nice as the right.  Oh well as long as I have the time and YouTube I will be able to find new tips to help me paint my stubby little nails.  I need to keep them painted because Abraxane makes them look AWFUL! So on with my photographs!

my gerbers are blooming....so TinyBatman couldn't
resist trying to hide among the blooms

Then my indoor gnome ventured outside to see what exactly
Tiny Batman was raving about...he agrees the gerbers are a great hiding place.

These hats were in a basket at the front of the infusion room.
I have ALWAYS wanted to be a redhead.
I think the hat is just the perfect shade for my skintone!

This is the proof I suffered my way through Identity Thief.

I wish an iced caramel machiato tasted as good as it looked.
I love the hot beverage...but add ice and it is BITTTTERRR.
Oh well...Tiny Batman loved it!

I love this picture of The Bug.  It combines 2 of my favorite things...The Bug and tulips.
She loos so soft and lovely in this picture, and I mean her tie dyed shirt really sets off the colors in the tulips!

What can I say...Robin put together this pencil holder for her PawPaw.
Place him against my tie dye blotting paper and he looks amazing.
I think he is a whimsical little goat man anyway.

I think for the seventh try this hand looks pretty good.

March 11-17 Week in Review

Sorry...I missed a week...but I didn't miss taking pictures.  This was Spring Break for The Bug, and even though I would have to have chemo I wanted to do something fun with her.  We took a mini vacay to Dallas, and visited the Arboretum.  I think I might need to have a post devoted to that trip, because the flowers looked amazing...they had over 500,000 tulips! Oh well onto this week in review!

Monday - Here is a selfie I took at the Arboretum.  I was sitting on some really cold concrete, but I didn't care I was right in front of an amazing bed of tulips and daffodils.  Let me just say...having a bald head on a windy day a person really should wear a hat with ear flaps.  I had to borrow a scarf and wrap it around my head then top it off with my favorite hat.  After doing this I could have spent another 6 hours tiptoeing through the tulips!

Tuesday - This was just another infusion day.  I think you guys might be exposed to several pics of the shoes I choose to wear to chemo.  This was an uneventful day...I showed up...sat in my recliner... received my drugs...and went home.  I had one the nurse that supervised my first chemo with my port.  She is very thorough...while being hilarious as well.  It is always nice to have a sweet, funny or talkative nurse.  It makes the infusion process go so much quicker.  Wow for a simple infusion day I had lots to say!

Wednesday - My Mom finished this puzzle...and she had been working on it for a WHILE!  She was very excited when she completed the puzzle so I thought it could be part of my Project 365.  Also I love the puzzle...the colors were amazing, and I am a huge fan of ribbon candy.  I also left the glasses on top of the puzzle, because my mom has glasses everywhere.  There are at least 2 pair in the kitchen...3 or 4 in the living room.  One pair next to each computer...2 in the car...one in her purse...you get the idea.  It just tickles me...no matter where I go in the house I am sure to find a pair of reading glasses.  Once my small print vision goes I will be covered in reading glasses...at least 20 different pair!

Thursday - I love Throwback Thursday.  This was just one short year ago.  I was taking a pill form of my chemo and we took a road trip to St. Louis.  This pic tickles me because my mom is planking in a turtle mouth.  I also love this one because my sweet daughter is looking especially sweet in the turtle's head.  Best part we stumbled upon this turtle park because the line to go to the zoo was IN-SANE!!! We headed to the zoo early the next day...but I wouldn't trade our time at Turtle Park for anything!

Friday - I thought I might try my hand at an edited photo for Friday.  I have two windups...regular PacMan and a regular red Ghostie.  I changed the color on the ghost three times.  I wanted to have three ghosts chasing PacMan...and then three ghosts running from Super PacMan.  I was a little harder than I thought to recolor everything...but I like the way it turned out.

Saturday - The Bug and I made almost St. Patrick's Day cupcakes.  The rainbows are Airhead Extremes. I saw this on Pinterest like 10,000 times.  They are pretty cute in my opinion, and according to my family...they were yummy too.  My favorite part was making them.  I got to spend some good quality time with my sweet girl.  I don't even care that the colors aren't exactly rainbow or that they are not standing up perfectly.  The joy was in the process not in the product!

Sunday - This pic cracks me up...do you see the curious photobomber in the back?   The Bug and I ventured out with a little help from my Dad.  We went to see "OZ...the great and powerful."The movie was visually amazing.   So bright and colorful...so whimsical and fantastic.  Let me just say...the flying monkey scared the beejeesus out of me!!!

Week in Review - March 4 - March 10

Today was round 2 of my third cycle of Abraxane and I feel wretched!!!  Usually I feel a little punch drunk...but this time I get to be light headed...jelly legged...and sooooo sick to my stomach.  I hope I wake up tomorrow and this has changed.  I don't do nauseous well AT ALL!

So...I thought to get my mind off my stomach I would write up my "Week in Review" for Project 365. I am impressed that I haven't missed a day yet.  So days I don't leave the house so those have been a particular challenge.  Oh well here's my week in review...

Like I said I don't really leave the house very often so this picture is actually a picture of a picture I liked in a catalog.  These are some shirts from Coldwater Creek and I love that they are in rainbow order!

Tuesday was treatment day and after I really wanted some Lemon Pie...luckily my favorite bakery had these little individual lemon pies.  It was so good...I didn't have one today...maybe the lemon helped settle my chemo tummy.  That would be nice!  Yes I must eat this lemon pie...my stomach neeeeeds it STAT! I also love how the pie looks.  I mean the twisty lemon on top of the whipped cream.  It was ALMOST too pretty to eat.

I got to have a chest x-ray on Wednesday.  I have continued to have trouble getting short of breath.  It is NOTHING like before...but to resume life as I like it being short of breath at all is not a happy thing.  My doc called and I have no effusions.  This is great news...sort of...if I am holding no fluid around my lungs...why do I lose my breath?  Oh well...I guess I'll just try to resume normal activity and try to build up some breath stamina.  Is that a thing?  I think it is.

This is my favorite.  On Instagram I try to participate in Throwback Thursday.  Thursday is a day that I usually do not leave the house...so I am scrambling for something to photograph.  Enter Throwback Thursday...and I can use any picture I have taken...EVER.  This week I used one of my favorite pictures of "The Bug."  We were at the duck pond and I called her name with my camera primed to click.  She turned around and I was able to capture pure joy in my opinion.  She is so happy.  She is spending time with animals...a pastime that continues to be a favorite of hers to this day.  I think I have this picture in at least three rooms of my house.

"The Bug" was so tired of yelling out "Beetle"  she made up her own game.  She now just yells out unusual colors.  VWs don't count because they are usually odd colors...not ours of course...she is a gorgeous metallic light blue.  So our week was punctuated by "GREEN!"  "YELLOW!" "REALLY UGLY ORANGE!!!!!!"  I saw this car in the parking lot of my oncology building.  "The Bug" lost her boyfriend this week so I took this picture to cheer her up.  Why do boys have to be so stupid sometimes?

Saturday my aunt I I went out to Funky Finds.  There were all these super cool vendors who made everything they were selling.  After looking at all the lovely handmade things.  We headed to the "Cattle Barns"  lovingly called the "flea barns" by my mother.  This is where people show their cattle during the stock show.  So the barns still smell a little like cattle if ya know what I mean.  I didn't buy anything, but I found this urn filled with swizzle sticks and couldn't resist snapping a picture of all the cool colors!

Sunday we headed to Dallas for a visit.  I love the Dallas skyline.  It is so unique and since I have spent every Thanksgiving in Dallas...since forever...once I catch a glimpse of "Buddy Ball" I know we are close to our final destination.  We spent Sunday night in Dallas so we could head out to The Arboretum...bright and early...but those pics will be part of next weeks review!

Week in Review

I am doing something with my pictures this year.  I am trying to take a picture each day that sums up the day.  It is called Project 365, and so far I have not missed a day.  I thought I might post my weeks photos here for all to see.  I don't have lots to say...chemo...cancer wise so I thought this would be a way to keep this blog active.  I also have some crafty things in the works and will share those here also.  Sorry I haven't been around...I just haven't had much to say!
